Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
The Gender and Sexuality Alliance was formed in 2009 by a group of ERHS students who were concerned about the treatment of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered people in the United States. You do not have to identify as LGBTQI to be a part of the GSA. In our meetings we have discussions about various topics, including the importance of inclusive language, how to avoid stereotyping and labeling, and the representation of LGBTQI people in the media and popular culture.
We often have guest speakers from the LGBTQI community who share their experiences and help us to see how we can play a part in making the world a more equal place. The ultimate goal of the GSA is to promote acceptance of all people, both here at ELRO and in the larger community.
We meet every Thursday from 3:05 to 4:05 in room 306.
